Start Your Own Crayon CollectionFor the 1 MILLION Crayon Drive!
Thank you for making a difference and committing to help saving 1 MILLION Crayons from landfills and donating them to an underserved school near you. We thought a little inspiration would help kick off your own Crayon Collection. Download your FREE Penguin Random House bookmark featuring our favorite characters from the best-selling book The Day the Crayons Quit and start collecting!
Step 1:Find a good spot for a box or basket for the crayons to be collected in.
You can click here to download a sign for your crayon collection box.
Step 2:Spread the word! Let everyone know the Drive is on! Collect gently-used crayons from your own personal stash, and local restaurants that would be willing to add to your collection. Click here to download a printable flyer you can distribute.
Step 3:Find those crayons a new home! There are many Title 1 elementary schools and Head Start Centers who need those crayons across the United States. Scroll down to use our form to find a Title 1 school near you and deliver those crayons to their new home!
Step 4:Share the goodwill and be recognized for your efforts! We’ve calculated that 2,500 crayons fit into the standard, brown paper grocery bag. Take photos or video of your filled bag's journey to a new school, post your progress on social media using hashtag #MILLIONCRAYONCOLLECTION. For every 2,500 crayons you collect and donate, we’ll send you a promo code to use on your back-to-school shopping that you can redeem online courtesy of Colorations®. Send us an email with your progress, we’ll confirm the donation and reply with a special thank you! Send photos and video to firstname.lastname@example.org, or use our Contact Form.
