Celebrating Earth Day


Ever since first crayon collection in 2009, sustainability and protecting the planet has been a main pillar of Crayon Collection. Over the past 12 years, we have successfully donated over 20 MILLION crayons that were headed to landfill. Instead, we sent them to Title 1 Elementary Schools and Head Start Centers to support vulnerable student's and infuse art into classrooms with limited resources. 

Your support has brought communities around the world a renewed commitment to sustainability and art while supporting students and teachers in the most vulnerable communities. Thank you for all of your support, energy and kindness!

Plus, we teach our youngest a sustainable lesson that really resonates. "We don't waste crayons" is now common knowledge among even preschoolers who have joined our efforts.
 
 150,000 CRAYONS PLEDGE!
On National Crayon Day, we pledged to donate 150,000 crayons to schools across the country and are working diligently to make that happen. With the support of our friends at Art2TheExtreme, we have secured all of the crayons and are working to pack them up to send. Now, we need YOUR help to cover shipping costs.
 
Every $100 raised will donate enough crayons for almost 500 students! That means for just $.25/student, you can provide the gift of art.

Start your own crayon collection in honor of Earth Day!


Step 1

Find a good spot for a box or basket and display it prominently. Click here to download a sign for your crayon collection box.

Step 2

Spread the word! Tell everyone that you are doing a crayon collection and ask for crayon donations. Download our printable flyer to spread the word.

Step 3

Ask local restaurants that provide crayons to kid diners if they would be willing to add to your collection.

Step 4

Find those crayons a new home! Use the forms below to find a Title 1 school or Head Start Center near you. Learn more about the schools we serve.

Step 5

Take photos or videos of your crayon donation and post your progress on social media using hashtag #CRAYONCOLLECTION. We might repost it!
