Really early on Monday morning December 5, 2018, hundreds of volunteers gathered down the streets of the Santa Monica Promenade excited to connect with hundreds of children from the Boys and Girls Club Santa Monica. Meanwhile, Boys and Girls Club families eagerly lined up in front of the Santa Monica Old Navy to prepare the children for the Holiday Shopping Spree.
Every volunteer, including the Crayon Collection Team, was partnered with a child of the Boys and Girls Club. Families waited outside, while children and volunteers could roam the store to pick out clothes for the children in honor of the holidays. Each volunteer was handed the generous Old Navy Gift Card and list of the child’s clothing sizes.
Our Crayon Collection Team had so much fun getting to know our member of the Boys and Girls Club. She was so kind and fun and we loved talking about school while looking for new winter clothes and a nice dress for Christmas Dinner. We picked out a #GirlPower shirt, a nice winter jacket, sparkly boots, unicorn leggings and more! We were so happy to attend the day in support of our partners at the Boys and Girls Club and enjoyed making the members’ holiday season more special with new holiday clothing.
