Hatter Nick Fouquet opened his shop and his heart with such generosity to the Crayon Collection mission. In honor of #GivingTuesday Nick and Crayon Collection created a #OneofaKind Campaign to auction off a very unique Nick Fouquet Hat. All proceeds of the hat auction on #GivingTuesday were directly donated to the charity Crayon Collection to support the Crayon Recycling, Color Kindness, and Art Education Programs.
On November 20th 2018 the creativity blossomed at Nick Fouquet’s hat shop in Venice California. A group of kid volunteers, the Crayon Collection Kid Ambassadors, entered Nick Fouquet’s shop to help design the #OnofaKind custom Nick Fouquet hat for the charity project. The Crayon Collection Kid Ambassadors were in awe of the beautiful store and all the amazing hats on display.
Before designing the hat, parents and kids alike gathered around a table to sort crayons and pack Crayon Collection Pouches with crayons and hand written notes of kindness as part of the Crayon Recycling and Color Kindness Program. Nick also drew inspiring notes of kindness that showcased his artistic skills. All the Crayon Collection pouches that were assembled that day were donated by Nick Fouquet and the Crayon Collection team to local preschool classrooms in the Venice area.
After color sorting and crayon packing, Nick Fouquet brought out a beautiful original hat that was painted white. He encouraged all of the Crayon Collection Kid Ambassadors to use crayons to draw on the hat. There was zero hesitation, all the little ones grabbed crayons and gathered around the hat with excitement! Every child added their own unique marks to create a colorful masterpiece of love, imagination, and collaboration. They filled up the hat so fast that Nick encouraged the kids to customize the Nick Fouquet box as well. The result was a colorful and complete package of a truly special gift.
On #GivingTuesday on November 27, 2018, Nick Fouquet auctioned off the #OneofaKind Crayon Collection Hat on his Instagram page @nickfouquet racking up about 4,000 likes and hundreds of comments! A successful and fun project all for a great cause!
